General care of glass fibre reinforced concrete (GRC / GFRC) products

All Unfound Creations masterpieces are handcrafted using a proprietary concrete mix, typical of the highest standards in GRC, and protected with sealer. Together, these materials offer a far superior product - one that is more durable for daily use while offering improved protection against water and oil stains, bacteria, viruses, black mould and more.

Cleaning

Clean your Unfound creation with care using a mild non-abrasive cleanser. Do not scrub with force.

Refrain from using scour pads or harsh cloths on the concrete as it can scratch your product.

Avoid exposure to products with high PH levels such as paint strippers, bleach, nail polish remover, acidic substances such as vinegar, lemon juice, sauces, cleaning, beauty and spa products. If exposure occurs, rinse immediately with water to neutralise the effects, and then follow with your usual cleansing procedure.

Please ensure any residual soap and other products are completely rinsed away after each use.

Do not leave damp or wet items directly on your concrete product for a prolonged period. Place soap, soap dispensers, plants and other similar objects on dishes.

 

Stubborn stains & dried spills

For stubborn stains, use a non-acidic and non-abrasive cleanser. Avoid forceful scrubbing as it may result in a change in surface texture.

For dried spills, a wet cloth and non-abrasive cleanser is recommended (do not use heavy chemicals).

 

Direct Sunlight

Direct sunlight can cause concrete to slowly discolour over a long period of time. While our Unfound Creations sealers are UV stable and suitable for outdoor use, you should embrace the effects of the elements on the natural material.

 

Scratches cracks and chipping

Over time, some items may develop scratches and marks from daily use. Often, these abrasions add to the character of the piece.

Even though Unfound Creations high performance concrete mix is extremely durable, you should try to avoid impact on edges and the surface with hard objects. Do not cut directly on any GRC / GFRC surface as this will cause scratches. Always use a chopping board or cutting mat.

 

General care of wooden products

Typically, wooden items can be wiped with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. In some cases, gentle furniture polish or waxes may be used if free from solvents. If on doubt, please contact us as each piece is unique and may require specific care.
